November 2009 NPD: 360 has shock win over PS3
Against all analyst predictions, the Xbox 360 sells 100,000 more units than the PS3.
According to sales data published by the NPD Group, for the four-week period ended November 28, 2009 in the US, Nintendo's Wii and Nintendo DS systems sold a combined 2.96 million units.
The Wii sold 1.26 million units, but the real surprise was Microsoft's Xbox 360. Against all analyst estimates, the 360 sold 819,500 units, beating the PS3's 710,000 unit haul.
"While there has been a lot of focus on Wii sales as compared to last year, the system was still the best-selling console system by a margin of 54 per cent," commented NPD analyst Anita Frazier. "At this same point in the PS2 lifecycle, the PS2 was down in unit sales by 23% over the previous year, but as history has shown, it continues to have a great deal of life left in it. So focusing on a comparison to Wii's stellar 2008 performance masks the reality of just how well this system is selling."
Frazier added: "The PS3 realized the greatest increase over last year's November sales and had its third best month in unit sales ever, coming in just under Decembers '07 and '08."
In the handheld market the Nintendo DS cleaned up, selling 1.70 million units, compared to only 293,900 PSP units.

Out of the 3 guess how many games they bought Between them over the last 12 months?
I don't think the banning has impacted greatly on console sales personally. The odd few may have replaced the console but this would have primarily happened in the first week of banning not the Last weekend of Nov.

It's hardly a surprise that PS3 was going to go back down again after the Slim release. It might remain steady for December, but expect a significant drop after that.

Wii has done an awesome month of business and have definately got out of their blip.
Remember this is Just US sales! PS could have wipped all in all other markets. But granted US is the largest market.
