There are no plans to increase the cost of Xbox One titles compared to current Xbox 360 games, Microsoft has told Polygon.

"I can confirm that Microsoft Studios games on Xbox One will be $59.99," said a Microsoft US rep.

If this applies to the UK we should see first-party game pricing at under £50.

Third-parties are yet to divulge Xbox One game pricing. Sony too is keeping stum over its PS4 game pricing.

VideoGamer.com Analysis

There's little chance we'll see retailers undercutting the RRP, so expect to pay £49.99 for Microsoft published Xbox One titles. Game.co.uk is asking £54.99 for a number of Xbox One titles from EA, such as FIFA 14 and Battlefield 4.

Of course, this also dashes any hopes that all this DRM etc would lead to cheaper prices, ala Steam.

Good that it's not going up, and this should also force the price of Wii U games to drop sooner as well.
Also puts some pressure on Sony to do the same.

Best bit of news i've heard from XboxO since the family sharing stuff.

So that brings the grand total number of good points for the XboxO to 2.
