No BioShock for PS3

Irrational Games' Ken Levine denies secret development of PS3 version.

Irrational Games' BioShock is a clear game of the year contender, but it looks likely only PC and Xbox 360 gamers will get the chance to enjoy this masterpiece of modern gaming.

Although branding the "Only on Xbox 360 and Windows" label on its box, it's been heavily rumoured that Irrational Games is secretly working on a version of the game for PS3.

BioShock lead designer Ken Levine says this is absolutely not the case.

"I promise you, there is no secret plan about the PS3 that we're keeping from people," Levine told Joystiq. "There's no PS3 development going on that we're hiding."

That's not to say it won't ever come to the PS3. Levine notes that Irrational Games isn't "currently" working on a PS3 version.

PS3 doesnt have much in the pipe which means a long long wait until we can see any value in the purchase. I wish Sony would just drop the stupid focus on Bluray and put all resources behind getting some frikken games out. They need to cut the price in half to get people buying.

They have a deal with MS to keep it exclusive anyway apparently, as soon as that deal times out then it's probably going to PS3 because it's been a huge success on PC / 360.

Good to be honest, Obvisourly Sony have to think now. Mircosoft has brought out some brillant games over the years, so has Nintendo. But seeing as Sony has too, like MGS, Tekken and so on.

Sony has to think now, and i mean now! why because Mircosoft is releasing these good RPG'S, brillant FPS'S and great online games. While Nintendo is bringing out family games, or with your mates. And the single player games as-well, and especially the Nintendo DS is flying for me because of Pokemon Diamond, and waiting for Zelda PHG.

Sony need to open there eyes and see what the other two are bringing out on their consoles, and reduce the price as well so then i can MGS4 :D

Seems a little irrational to rule out a PS3 version. Bioshock is one of the highest rated games of all time, so a PS3 version is a practically guaranteed 5 million or so sales, and I can't see the development costs for a PS3 version coming anywhere near that kind of income as most of the donkey work development (storyline, level layout etc.) has been done already.

So I'm guessing eventually it'll happen unless there are some backhanders going on to make it worth their while not to.
