Nintendo's console and handheld hardware divisions will soon be rehoused in the firm's new Kyoto facility, the platform holder has confirmed to GamesIndustry International.
The ¥30 billion ($340m apprx) offices will bring together the two business arms on February 16, in the hope of forming a closer working relationship, able to share technological research with greater efficiency.
Nintendo's development staff are currently split between the Kyoto Research Center R&D facility in the Higashiyama Ward, and the main office in the Minami Ward.
Nintendo is under great pressure for its 3DS and Wii U platforms to succeed, but the growing popularity of tablet devices and fierce competition from Sony and Microsoft means the firm is a long way from its Nintendo DS and Wii high.
Nintendo will hope that bringing its creative minds together will help the firm create the next big thing.
