Nintendo will reveal its new NX gaming platform in 2016, and remains firm in its stance of not talking about the system this year. However, in the 75th Annual General Meeting of Shareholders Q&A, Nintendo president Satoru Iwata did offer the following nugget about NX.
"I will not share details on NX today but with regard to the launch of Nintendo 3DS and Wii U not necessarily having progressed well and not acquiring sufficient support from software publishers, we intend to offer NX through a Nintendo-like solution," he explained leaving everyone totally baffled as to what he means.
"Thank you for understanding that we are making various considerations and preparations in order to avoid what happened with the previous generations," he concluded.
Broadly speaking Iwata is saying it won't make the same mistakes it did with Wii U again, but what he means by "Nintendo-like solution" is anyone's guess. Answers on a postcard please.
