Nintendo planning DSi enhanced games

Games that play on both the DS and DSi, but offer features only accessible on the newer handheld.

Kotaku reports that Nintendo is planning "Nintendo DSi enhanced game cards", designed to work on both the DS and DSi, but offer users of the latter specific DSi functionality.

"For example, you will use these features if you want to create textures from photographs taken with the DSi camera," said Masato Kuwahara, project leader of the Nintendo DSi Hardware group.

Kotaku suggests the feature could see the likes of Animal Crossing, which currently features an in-game texture creation tool, allow DSi gamers to take snaps to use as in-game textures.
