Games played using touch-sensitive area on handheld's back.
According to a report on Eurogamer, the next-generation PSP from Sony is being shown to developers and features a touch-sensitive area on the back of the unit. The UK site claims that three sources have seen and used the new handheld, confirming that it is roughly the same size as the PSP-3000.
A release date is somewhat up in the air, with one source expecting it before the end of 2011, while others don't expect to see it for a few years.

Buttons on the back, yeh that's fine, N64 had the Z-trigger and everyone knows that was the best button of all time. If they put sticks on the back that's instant failure.
What I THINK they're going to do is have buttons on the back - probably X and ■ on the left, with • and ▲ on the right, and with L1/R1 there as normal buttons on each side - and just have the whole front as a touch screen and you'll use *shudder* on-screen analogue sticks. This would also make for a good phone design... in which case Sony can say good bye to the handheld gaming and phone markets at the same time.

Can't see how the back is better unless they are virtual triggers? It's not a second analogue stick.
I also would struggle to get my hand around the back and then still see the front without thumbs in front of the screen.
