In an interview today Karl Stewart, global brand manager of Crystal Dynamics, has stated the upcoming Tomb Raider reboot is "not shallow".
Responding to the recent reaction had by viewers of Tomb Raider's demonstration at yesterday's Microsoft conference, he said:
"The one thing I would say is that the demo which we have right now behind closed doors is the full demo. For the Microsoft event we were asked to take a 15 minute experience in the den and give it a five and a half minutes."
He added: "So with that you have to condense experiences into shapes that we wouldn't necessarily liked to have done but ultimately we still wanted to create and show this new vision of the franchise."
In regards to action within the upcoming reboot he stated: "We are not heavy when it comes to quick time events. We are not shallow. We saw the cinematics today about how Lara interacts with Roth and we see an emotion we haven't seen before. I think yesterday morning was really more of a representation of aspects of the game."
Tomb Raider is set to be released in 2012 on Xbox 360, PS3, and PC.
