Activision will release games based on X-Men: First Class and Transformers 3 this year, along with a new game based on the Spider-Man franchise, CEO Eric Hirshberg announced during the publisher's Q4 2010 earnings call.

Games based on the TV shows Wipeout and Family Guy are also due this calendar year.

X-Men First Class and Transformers 3 are to release alongside the movies of the same name. Details of the next Spider-Man game haven't been released, although developer of Spider-Man Shattered Dimensions, Beenox, has already been named as the lead studio for future titles starring the Webbed Wonder.

Wow, Activision have got a terrible year ahead on Metacritic. And I don't hold much hope for Call of Duty now that IW is messed up and there's like 5 developers on it.

I've got reasonably high hopes for the Spidey game as I really enjoyed Shattered Dimensions. I know a lot of people were disapointed that it wasn't open world but I was quite glad for a change and it felt a bit more like the good ol' PSone offering.
