New form factor PS3 spotted

Documents filed with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) – spotted by Japanese website Pocket News – have revealed what looks like new form factor PS3, the CECH-4001x.

Whilst the documents don't offer any specifications of the unit's size, it's assumed the new 4000 model is the rumoured super-slim PS3.

The 4000 features a rectangular shape, not the square body of the current slim, and appears to have a lip much like the first PS3.

Sony is yet to comment on the new PS3, but a lower price point also seems a likely move.
