New Batman game set after events of the movie?

An anonymous source who's already bagged some hands-on time with the new Batman video game has spilled a load of info to video game blog Kotaku. Although still to be officially announced, the source confirmed that Pandemic is helming the project, with a large part of the game set in a free-roaming Gotham City environment in which Batman must stop crime.

Unfortunately the game's not thought to be in the best shape, featuring what's described as a 'wonky free-roaming camera system', 'mashy hand-to-hand combat' and a severely limited range of moves. Kotaku also notes that another source informed them that the game is set after the events of The Dark Knight.

Given that the game is still to be announced and there's no known release date, we're hoping Pandemic will be given time to iron out problems. The movie is sure to be a massive draw on DVD and Blu-ray this winter so we think the money men will want the game in stores to coincide with this date.
