Console has an amazing amount of 'horsepower and graphics power'.

Microsoft's Xbox LIVE boss John Schappert has told MCV that its Xbox 360 console is more than up to the task of running Konami's Metal Gear Solid 4 and the platform holder would "love" to see the game on their system.

"I'm certainly in the fan club that would love to see Kojima-san's masterpiece come our way. It would be wonderful to play Metal Gear Solid on the Xbox," said Schappert. "It could become another of the many franchises that started their life on another console that are now coming our way.

"I can't speak on behalf of Konami, but I can shed more light on the fact that we definitely have the power to run MGS4."

Schappert also took a slight dig at the true high definition capabilities of the PS3, noting: "There are a lot of recent examples that are in true high-def on our platform and aren't on PS3. We've got an amazing amount of horsepower and graphics power."

Only recently Konami's Yoshitaka Arai was alleged to have said the publisher was looking at bringing the acclaimed action title to the Xbox 360.

"The worldwide demand for an Xbox 360 version of MGS4 is quite high, and it is something we are currently looking in to," said Arai.

mgs4 would be a better experience on 360 because the game isnt that long its just the cut scenes. i was expecting the game to be huge like 6 times longer than past games but no. sp it will seem like a fuller game on 360.

lolworthy stuff here not by your comments but by Microsoft. Just to start another fanyboyism war me thinks....

Who cares if 'it' can run MGS4, and so what if the 'PS3' can run Halo 3. At the end of the day I want a console which can give me tonnes of excitement and joy at the same time and not to be put down by hilarious and wasteful comments of fanbois thinking there supreme.

I think it would be an amazing addition. Just proves nothing is sacred anymore theres too many 360's out there for this game not to be considered. As for the throw away bluRay comment of South East Jedi suggesting the game used the contents of a BluRay Disk it didn't mate it was bloated files with encryption that took up most the disk. Its this reason that the spin cycle of a dvd is still better than that of bluray.

its not about resolution, its about smoothness and running the game at a high rate. MGS4 is only 720p and you have to look at the visuals and its jaw dropping, imagine it at a higher resolution. Wouldnt be that much difference but it depends on the 360's hardware to actually put out that amount of work.

On my own opinion id ay this should stay with PS3, it was born on PS and should stay there.

360 is better because all of the multi-platform titles use 1080 resolution versus PS3's 720. I have both. The back of the boxes of games even prove this.

It's a bit of a stupid statement.

I mean, PS3 has the power to run Halo3 and any other 360 title, doesn't matter.

erm, how many disks? I dont own a PS3 but if it filled a Blu-Ray your looking at at least 5 - 6 Dual-Layer disks to cope with the amount of game content. Way round it would be either external Blu-Ray player for 360 or a very large install onto your 360 HDD
