MS removes HD cables from new Elites

No longer ships with an HDMI cable.

xbox 360 elite - MS removes HD cables from new Elites

Kotaku reports that according to GameStop employees, new models of the Xbox 360 Elite - now arriving in stores across the US - no longer ship with an HDMI cable. OK, so they include a component cable instead right? Wrong. The new model ships with only the SD composite cables.

This means that gamers wishing to get the most from their new HD Xbox 360 will need to spent just that little bit more for HD-ready cables.

You can find very good HDMI cables for under £5 these days so taking one of them out of the box (because lets face it, the cables that did come with Elites were the cheapest around) doesn't make that much sense. Expect some Microsoft branded HDMI cables coming out soon (recommended for Xbox 360 no doubt) for around £19.99 each. Report Reply

As PS3 never came with HDMI cable I specifically remember going with my mate to pick his 60gb launch console up and him spending £30 on a sony cable! You probably bought a bundle deal! Launch day was supposed to be £40. » Go to Karlius's original post @ Mr_Ninjutsu PS3's don't come with a HDMI cable, you have to buy them seperate. When I got my PS3 I got an accessory bundle with it which had a HDMI cable inside. As far as I know, PS3 never came with the cable itself inside the box. Report Reply

After telling my mate about HDMI cables he went and bought one for his 360, only to find out it when he got back from the shop that it didn't have a HDMI port as it was one of the original models. Sony has never packaged a hdmi cable with a PS3. Sure you got the Virgin bundle that came with a HDMI CABLE! What may of happened is your console was opened and a packaged HDMI cable inserted? If you preorderd off of Game all packages came with a HDMI cable! But if you went to woolworths etc bought just the console there was no HDMI! This is fact! Report Reply
