The exclusive rights will mean you might see the Incredible Hulk and the X-men appearing in an Xbox 360 exclusive MMO. The first title to come from this deal is not expected until 2008 but this is quite a coo for Microsoft, strengthening the Xbox 360's game portfolio.
Online gaming is seen as a key element to the success of the Xbox 360, especially as this is an area where Microsoft has the upper hand over Sony. The Xbox didn't see any MMOs, but several have already been announced for the new console.
"Online gaming is reaching a point of acceptance. We will use as many of the Marvel characters as we can," said Peter Moore, corporate vice president of worldwide marketing and publishing for Microsoft's Xbox.
