Mass Effect MMO 'makes sense,' claims BioWare
News
Would be 'amazing to live on the Citadel'.
A Mass Effect MMO would "make sense," BioWare's Casey Hudson has told Game Informer.
"We've been trying to think of a way that makes sense for people to experience Mass Effect with their friends," said Hudson. "We haven't yet come up with a way to do that, so we don't have anything to announce at this time. But, obviously, multiplayer is something we want to do more of in the future as a company."
"A lot of people say that they want to see an MMO - that kind of makes sense for this universe."
Hudson added: "If you get rid of the Reapers and win that wouldn't it be amazing to just live on the Citadel or just take a ship to Omega? That makes sense."

Or maybe I'd be an Assassin (Krogan/Quarian/Human/Geth) who naturally have their own Race Quests to follow and prefer to have their own instanced space platforms to live on.
The Citadel could be one of many quest hubs, and how you approach each quest could decide whether you're Paragon or Renegade which then affects certain shop inventories, skillsets, areas you can access, alliances you can forge etc, which allows for PvP.
Want some nice wall hangings for your airlock? Typical quest: "Geth Star" - put a stop to the Geth incursions in the Hades Cluster by boarding one of their satellites and destroying/disabling it - A Paragon could go in negotiating and send them on their way in return for a nice selection of Persian Rugs from the Sol System, a Renegade could go in guns blazing and loot/hack their way through the station, helping themselves to a few Hanar-crafted floor mats.
Crafting would be done by your Salarian Tech Officer on board your SSV 'I naemed dis myself' in return for certain materials mined/harvested/looted, and certain technical advances could be furthered by furnishing your T.O. with appropriated technology from missions.
Your SSV would also be equipped with a fully operation VR Training Range so you can try out that new weapon mod that you salvaged from an asteroid field before using it in real combat. Your Hi-Scores from the VRTR can be uploaded to a central Citadel Database and you'll be offered extra quests from, say, C-Sec or certain Ambassadors if they know you can take down 38 Vorcha in 2 minutes without taking a scratch.
In terms of PvP you're either all for the Citadel or a straight out Rebel. Both sides are fighting a common enemy (next wave of Reapers and their agents) but if they ever meet they'll always have the option to blow each other to smithereens if they wish to do so.
I've yet to work out how to include a fishing minigame for relaxation, it would probably revolve around firing remote probes at random planets and hoping for the best. Type of Probe = bait, Level of Scanner Technology = rod, yeah, that might work...

I think this would work very well because it has all the necessary groundings for a good MMO. I spend most of my time in Mass Effect doing side quests anyway, but doing that with mah bros in my squad? Awesome.
You'd probably reach Spectre status at level 100 or something ridiculous. It would enable characters to go to different worlds as well, because most people don't have their own space ships. In fact, being a Spectre could be one route to achieving this, and other routes might include just excelling in C-Sec or something? I dunno I don't play MMO's.
