Nintendo's next big release races onto Wii in Europe on April 11, complete with Wii Wheel accessory.
It's the news European Wii owners have been waiting for (well, this and a release date for Super Smash Bros. Brawl). Mario Kart Wii will arrive in stores across Europe on April 11 and ship with the Wii Wheel accessory Nintendo debuted at E3 2007.
The game will include five control options: Wii Wheel, Wii Remote turned on its side, Wii Remote and Nunchuk combination, Classic Controller and even Nintendo GameCube controller. Nintendo says that this should result in a game that everyone can play.
As well as the expected races against AI drivers and single-console multiplayer, Mario Kart Wii will offer online play for up to 12 players using Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. 16 classic tracks will be included for Mario Kart fans of old, alongside 16 brand new tracks.
Something never before seen in the Mario Kart series is bikes. Players will experience new moves, such as wheelies that give you a small speed boost. Mii integration is also included, so you'll be able to race head to head with your Wii-created friends.
Not content with simply giving gamers basic online play, Nintendo will also launch the Mario Kart Channel, the place to keep track of your ranking against other players and to access and share Ghost Data. Special events will even be organized by Nintendo, allowing players to compete with each other from across the world.
Mario Kart Wii is scheduled to be released across Europe exclusively for Wii on April 11.

What i do hope this game offers is the ability to have two players from the same console playing in a split screen mode with other players from around the world. If this option is not included, might just have to get another Wii in the house to have proper 12 player races which include us both :\
On a better note, if one of us decides to move on somewhere else, we could still play this game against one another. Infact, using seperate Wii's has the advantage of not having view of the other players screen, which i have never experienced before.
I am looking very forward to this release. Thanks Nintendo from Belgium.
