Original development team working on H2Overdrive, a spiritual successor to Midway's arcade racer.
Arcadeheroes.com reports that arcade video game developer Raw Thrills is set to unveil the spiritual successor the the much loved boat racing game Hydro Thunder at London's ATEI next week.
Midway's Hydro Thunder was released in arcades in 1999 and later that year arrived in a graphically stunning port on SEGA's Dreamcast console. Versions were also later released on PlayStation, Nintendo 64 and PC.
Raw Thrills' tentatively titled H2Overdive has been developed with the help of the original Hydro Thunder team and will retain many of the features that made the first game so popular (massive drops and short cuts).
The H2Overdive arcade cabinet will feature a 42" HD screen and pulsing LED lights, while the game is said to run at a smooth 60 frames per second. You'll find the first screens over at Arcadeheros.com.
ATEI runs January 27-29 at Earls Court, London.
