HTC to launch PlayStation certified mobile devices

Will be one of the first companies besides Sony to offer PSone games on its phones and tablets.

HTC will be one of the first companies besides Sony to offer PlayStation certified mobile devices to consumers, sources have told Pocket-lint.

An official announcement is expected later this year, likely at the Mobile World Congress trade show in Barcelona, enabling HTC to market phones and tablets offering the ability to play PSone titles such as Crash Bandicoot, Syphon Filter, Destruction Derby, MediEvil, Jumping Flash and Cool Boarders 2.

HTC said it couldn't "comment on rumours or speculation," but Pocket-lint sources suggest certification will be awarded in the second half of 2012.
