Final Fantasy X on PlayStation 3 is a remaster not a remake

Described as a 'high definition remaster,' but the visuals will look much better says producer.

Final Fantasy X HD for PlayStation 3 and Vita, previously revealed by Square Enix as a remake, is in fact more accurately described as a remaster.

Speaking at the Taipei Game Show, Square Enix producer Shinji Hashimoto told Taiwanese gaming site Gamer: "The game is being developed like a high-definition remaster, but the visuals will look much better compared to the original."

This means we should expect a high definition version similar to that of Ico and Shadow of the Colossus.

Final Fantasy X HD is without a confirmed release date.
