The Square Enix-backed Kickstarter for Fear Effect Sedna is currently at €74,270 of its €100,000 goal, a target which could soon be reached after PS4 and Xbox One versions were confirmed by developer Sushee.

“Over the past few weeks, we had dozens of messages requesting a console port for Sedna. It was a difficult decision for us, because developing on PS4 or Xbox One requires a lot of work, and significant financial investment too,” wrote the studio in a Kickstarter update. “It was a tough job, and we had to make choices, but today we can officially announce that we will be porting the game on PS4 and Xbox One!

“We are very excited to see Fear Effect on consoles. You may wonder why we didn’t plan this at the beginning of the campaign? The reason is simple, we only could secure the required funds recently, and it’s very important for us to commit to doing things we have the capacity to do.”

These console versions will be worked on concurrently with the PC edition, with the console stretch goal removed from the campaign.

To secure a PS4 or Xbox One version you need to pledge €20 or more.

Furthermore, the team at Sushee has finally managed to put together a gameplay video, highlighting some key elements of the game. The footage is captured from the “current working copy” and features puzzles, deathscenes, fights and cutscenes. Remember that this is an early version, which Sushee says will be improved in every aspect when launching a year from now.
