Cliff Bleszinski and Mike Capps from Epic Games have been chatting about the possibilities of a Gears of War sequel.

Speaking to CVG, Capps said: "We've spent time developing a rich universe for Gears, and the story is absolutely larger than the one told in the game. One could even argue that the ending cinematic leaves room for a sequel."

Although teasing with sequel talk, Capps noted that Epic has "no plans as of yet. We have a fair amount of rest and relaxation to worry about first."

Epic Games' lead designer Cliff Bleszinski has also shared his thoughts on a Gears of War sequel.

"I'll wait for the gamers out there to play through the game before coming to any conclusions about future products. I love the universe and everything involved in it and if the game does amazingly well I wouldn't rule anything out!"

The commercial success of Gear of War is almost a given, but the game will need to live up to the monumental hype in order to maintain the momentum for a sequel.
