Is keeping a close eye on opportunities for sports in 3D.

EA Sports president Peter Moore has said that while he is keeping "a very close eye" on the opportunities for sports in 3D, EA isn't close to revealing anything in the gaming space which utilises the third dimension.

"No, no, no. I have a point of view and that's about as much as we have," said Moore at a FIFA event in London last week. "You've rightly pointed out that, from Howard Stringer down, Sony has made it a strategic imperative for the company. And when Sony does something of that nature then we as a company need to sit up and take notice.

"But believe me there's nothing going on right now that would say I'm ready to demo a 3D sports game. Nothing at all."

3D sport looks set to take off in 2010; Sunday saw a world's first when Sky Sports broadcast a special 3D version of the Arsenal vs Manchester United Barclay's Premier League game at selected venues around the UK. Sky plans to roll-out the service to pubs in April, with at-home 3D scheduled for the autumn.
