Creative Assembly's Aliens game not tied to films
'Games that are time-constrained to be day-and-date with the movie are often flawed.'
The Creative Assembly's upcoming Alien game, using the 20th Century Fox Alien licence, isn't going to be tied to the movies, according to studio director Tim Heaton. He believes movie tie-ins are often flawed.
"What we can say is that we understand that games that are time-constrained to be day-and-date with the movie are often flawed so it's probably something that we wouldn't really want to be tied to," Heaton told Eurogamer.
Very little is known about the Alien project at The Creative Assembly, but British Minister for Culture, Communications and Creative Industries, Ed Vaizey did say that the graphics are "out of this world".
VideoGamer.com Analysis
It's good to hear that the upcoming game isn't tied to a film. What we're most interested in knowing is whether this project will see a release before Gearbox's Aliens: Colonial Marines, which has been MIA for a long time.
