Commodore returns with new gaming PCs

The world is dominated by Microsoft, Unix and Intel so its not realy financialy viable. Im not saying it couldnt be done its just that no one will risk the financial resorces needed to develop radical new hardware. Personaly I think it will be another alienware or such machine with the commodore logo.. A pity realy as I miss the late nights typeing in pages of asssembler or basic programs from Magazines. Even the hardware projects, remember them? diskdrive interfaces, sound samplers, digitisers they were all good fun and educational, where are they today, Im not a rich person I cant afford MSvisual basis or C++ they cost a small fortune in fact they cost more than my PC witch took me ages to save for. However I like to dream about a commodore PC running a new Commodore OS and new software. Ahh those were the days... Reply

Sam	0 0 In response to Article » Go to 's original post I like the idea of having a computer that's so simple, does everything and works right out of the box, one of the reasons why Commodore was so successful. We don't really know if they ever intend to go this route again but it would be nice. I still have my old beige C64 connected to a PC which runs 1541 server software so that I can mount D64 images and check out games & new demos. I have compared Vice to the real thing & the timing & quality of sound and video is just not there in emulation. Reply

Commdore really need to re-establish themselves in the market & have a steady source of cash flow on other products before they can even think about allocating a budget for something like that.
