10tacle Studios has announced that Hungarian developer Stormregion is to take Codename Panzers to the next-gen and handheld platforms.

Stormregion has decided to expand the Codename Panzers brand beyond the PC, and create a tactical action game for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The developer is also planning on making a turn-based strategy game for the PSP and DS.

"We are very excited about the creative possibilities that the next generation console titles can offer gamers and the new directions it opens up for the Codename Panzers brand. We are proud to expand the brand with our partner 10tacle Studios," commented Tamás Szerémy, CEO of Stormregion Ltd.

"We feel that with the experienced Stormregion team we have found the right partner to try out something new in the context of strategy games and set new quality standards. At the same time, the expansion of the brand "Codename Panzers" to different platforms is in line with the company strategy to build up our brands internationally and make them last," explained Michele Pes, CEO of 10tacle Studios AG.

Further details on the new projects haven't been disclosed.
