Blizzard hints at new StarCraft by 2008

At a WoW: The Burning Crusade launch event, Blizzard's VP of Business Development hints at the next instalment in the StarCraft series.

Blizzard fans were out in force in London tonight, celebrating the launch of the much anticipated World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade expansion, but another Blizzard game might have stolen the limelight.

Itzik Ben Bassat, Vice President Business Development and International for Blizzard Entertainment, took the stage at HMV Oxford Street, London, and said some rather revealing words.

"I'm a StarCraft player myself and I hope it's not a decade, and we launched StarCraft in 1998, before I'm standing here again, celebrating the next game in the series," stated Bassat while on stage.

So, while not an official date for the next game in the StarCraft series, a new game by 2008 looks very likely. We'll keep our ear to the ground for more info.

Earlier today Blizzard game designer Jonathan LeCraft revealed to Pro-G that Blizzard has no plans to bring its hit MMO World of Warcraft to consoles.

BLIZZARD WONT REALESE SC2 CUZ IN 2000 THEY MADE IT CLEAR THAT STARCRAFT WAS GOING TO BE PUT ASIDE AND THEYLL MAKE NEW GAMES (BUT THER COULD BE A LITTLE CHANCE) ITS GOING TO GET REJECTED JUST LIKE SC GHOST CUZ THEY WANT $$$$ AND LOTS OF IT SO I DOUHT IT WILL HAPPEN

I think we were talking about the pc version not about the ghost.
1997-1998 from when the game was brought out is a long time to wait for the 2nd version.
It already 2007 so we been waiting for a while.
I thought if we had to wait so long we would move onto something else yet some how we got pull back not to be release from the game grip.

pheo_aiko came in and was childish.
He may have been the one that probably took mine name also.
It one thing to help another to behave in the manner he done.
I just think he should had been more resectful and honor the topic.

Sorry if it sounded rude i just think he should be more open to other then he is.
Am also upset with someone taking mine name like they did and said something negative about SC2 doing so.
(it true i don't much care for Diablo yet i don't intend to post something negative about it)

Whoever says SC isn't good is likely a RA fan! Couldn't handle the competition could ya?!

Anyways, they better be rolling out Starcraft 2 or else millions around the world are going to be dissapointed.
