A patch is coming 'as soon as possible', but there's currently no time frame.
Speaking to Joystiq, Behemoth's Art Director Dan Paladin and Lead Programmer Tom Fulp have confirmed that the team is working on a patch to fix network problems currently being experienced by a select group of Castle Crashers players.
"We're hoping soon, as soon as possible. Though, there isn't any official time frame yet," said Fulp.
Paladin added: "We're trying to get it out as soon as possible, because we know it's important to people. I've played through half the game with a friend online and it runs fine. And when it works, it runs like it's local. But there's those certain people whose connections we have problems with and that's exactly the problem we're onto. It's that certain connection where two people just don't work, but we're on it. The good news is that it'll work ... at least half the time."
Fulp also noted that the problems that have cropped up since the game was released last week "never came up in testing".
Regarding the game's success, Fulp said it's too early to know official sales, but thinks the game is "record breaking".
Castle Crashers is out now on Xbox LIVE Arcade priced 1200 MS Points.

It's worth noting that the same 2 mates and myself can play hour after hour of Aegis Wing with absolutely no problem ever. Aegis Wing is a free game that was developed by a handful of interns in less than a year. It has just as many (if not more) enemies on-screen at the same time as Castle Crashers. It moves just as fast (if not faster) and it performs flawlessly every single time.
These complaints are totally out of character for me as I'm a very nice and reasonable person and I realize that unforseen problems happen but at this stage I'm just so infuriated by The Behemoth's complete lack of support that I'm nearly speechless.
Assuming these guys ever attempt to make another game I (and everyone I know) will approach their future titles with EXTREME CAUTION. This whole experience has left me bitter and pretty irate.
I can only shake my head in disbelief.

What?!? It's not like they didn't play test it. It passed all of Microsoft's online play checks. If you want to point the finger of blame at someone; point it at MS. The simple fact is that most games need patching eg: CoD4, GTAIV. OK, maybe just the 4th instalment of games, so there really is no excuse.
Jokes aside; Events like PAX are one of the few methods of promotion that developers as small as The Behemoth have. They obviously can't afford to advertise on TV and they get to reach a huge audience there.
Tom Fulp is a really decent guy and I'm confident that as soon as they get back that he'll be working flat out to get the issues resolved. In the months prior to CC being completed, he was doing 14+ hours a day. Give them a break and enjoy the game to the full when the patch does come.
