ipad 2 -

Apple will launch what is being dubbed the iPad mini this autumn, according to a report by iMore.

The shrunken tablet is said to be identical to the current 9.7-inch iPad, only with a 7-inch screen. This means the 1048x1536 resolution will provide a 365ppi.

The iPad mini will be sold only in an 8GB configuration and could retail for $200-$250 (that's around £150).

Apple is yet to comment.

It isn't a surprise to see this happening. I won't be getting one as the Wii U is my day one contender for new gadget of the year for me. Sorry Samsung, you are not Nintendo, and you wasn't part of my childhood like Nintendo! I do love my Samsung Galaxy S II.

Probably get one next year if the price drops, which it could to intrigue more customers.

Shrunken iPad, or big iPod Touch?? IT IS UP TO YOU.

They will have to change the resolution, otherwise it would need to be called Retina Display +, and that makes sense right?

£150 would be decent for an I-pad no matter what its size, I would think about buying this if I weren't saving for a Wii U.

Well that would be the biggest contradiction to convention if they do. How many times did Jobs say that he didn't believe anything smaller than 9.7" was big enough for the correct tablet experience?
