Analyst: current console cycle to extend through 2013

PS3 to overtake Xbox 360 by 2015.

According to a new report by Wedbush Morgan Securities analyst Michael Pachter, the current console cycle will extend through at least 2013.

The report, titled "Money for Nothing, How Ancillary Revenues Can Extend The Console Cycle", predicts that Nintendo's Wii will maintain its position as the dominant console through to the end of the cycle, while the Xbox 360 will eventually be overtaken into second place by the PS3 in 2015 - largely as a result of Blu-ray's expected dominance in the high definition media market.

Well that report lost all credibility, when "Xbox 360 will eventually be overtaken into second place by the PS3 in 2015" came up.
The world is gonna end in 2012, according to the ancient Mayans. Oh yeah, and the fact that customers prefer 360 to PS3.
