2 million concurrently logged into Xbox LIVE

New record likely a result of Modern Warfare 2.

According to a Twitter post made yesterday at around noon US Pacific Time by Major Nelson, Xbox LIVE set a new record of two million people logged into the service concurrently.

No further details were offered, but it's almost certain that the large number of users is a direct result of the approximately five million gamers who've picked up Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

Xbox LIVE currently has over 20 million members.
