Will begin to schedule more elaborate productions for the Space, which will be available for use by 1st and 3rd parties.
Sony has announced that its PlayStation Media & Events Space created on virtual community Home was a huge success, enabling 10,000 PS3 users to experience the recent PlayStation Day using their PS3.
In the Home Space users were greeted by a large area dressed with the various elements from the real world PlayStation Day. This included the hexagonal branding and artwork from each of the zones and a jumbo screen showing the day's speeches, including an introduction from Kaz Hirai.
"As well as looking great, the Media and Events Space is flexible and user-friendly - it's a real focal point for our virtual community. This was a very exciting first event and we've already received plenty of great feedback," says Home producer Martijn Van Der Meulen.
With the test event declared a success Sony is planning to schedule more elaborate and exciting events for the Space, which are said to be available to first and third parties. The Space can be used for new game unveilings to sports events to fashion shows.
