Game will now support Trophies and split screen.
Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has revealed the reasons behind the WipEout HD delay, which has seen the game slip from a summer debut to an unconfirmed date. It had been reported that the game's release has slipped because it failed an epilepsy test.
A SCEE representative told TVG: "The reason for the delay of WipEout HD on PS3 has been due to the many improvements we have been making and the numerous features we've added to the game. These include: 8 reverse tracks, 4 extra ships, 2 alternative HUDS, 2 Player offline split screen and XMB Trophy support. We look forward to sharing WipEout HD with you very soon.
"Regarding the speculation about health issues, we can assure you that we take consumer safety very seriously and monitor it very carefully."
Good news on the new content, but it's still disappointing we won't be playing 1080p WipEout this summer.
Does the new content soften the delay or would you rather the game was released soon without Trophy support? Let us know in the comments section below.

Id much sooner just play it without the trophy support! I had an xbox for a while and just thought the achievements were a waste of time. The trophies will be to!!

I think that the delay is definatly for the better. Trophies are nice to have but arent nessassery, however the split screen is a very good addition and that alone is worth the delays imo. However to me a lot of games are getting delayed, dont the devs leave time for new problems and additions?
