Sales figures for the month of April in the US, compiled by the NPD group, place the Wii as the runaway leader for the month, recording a massive 714,200 units sold. This compares very favourably to the competition - if you can even call them that - with the Xbox 360 managing sales of 188,000 units and the PS3 187,100 units.

The second highest hardware was the Nintendo DS, moving 414,800 units, but still finding itself approximately 300,000 behind the Wii. DS rival the PSP finds itself in third place, albeit a long way back with 192,700 units and the PS2 brings up the rear with sales of 124,400 units.
