To close Nintendo's conference, Nintendo legend Shigeru Miyamoto took the stage to introduce and demo Wii Fit, an all-new title for the Wii.

As you might have gathered from the title, Wii Fit is a title which has been designed to improve the fitness of those that use it. The game, if it can indeed be called that, features four genres of activity: aerobics, muscle conditioning, yoga and balance.

In all some 40 + activities will feature in Wii Fit, all of which will utilise a new controller called the Wii Balance Board. Taking the form of a step aerobics board, this tidy looking peripheral is able to accurately measure weight and your body's distribution, thus creating a way to translate body movement into a new form of controller. The wireless device will ship with Wii Fit.

Nintendo showed several exercises with people on stage performing actions which included swinging a leg back and forth, step aerobics, stretching and a football header challenge between Miyamoto and Reggie. A video clip also showed hula hoops and press-ups.

No release date was announced which suggest we won't be seeing the title this year, but expect full details over the coming days.
