Namco Bandai is planning to release a downloadable version of Tekken 5 Dark Resurrection for the PS3 - in 1080p too.
According to a report in Famitsu Weekly (translated by IGN), the updated Tekken 5 arcade game will be released via the PlayStation Store, and it'll include bonus features. The game will sport 1080p visuals and give players the ability to play as boss character Jinpachi. The game modes found in the arcade game, including arcade battle, ghost battle and gallery, will also be updated for the PS3 release.
No release date or pricing information has been released, nor have any details on release territories. Namco are also working on Tekken 6 for the PS3, a game which has appeared in various guises over recent years, but has remained very much out behind closed doors. Tekken 5 Dark Resurrection should prove a suitable stopgap while fans wait for the release of the first real next-gen Tekken.
