Gap is closing, though.

The Xbox 360 has once again outsold the PS3 in Japan, but Sony's machine is closing the gap.
Latest figures from Media Create show that the 360 sold 8,271 units in the week ending October 5, ahead of the PS3's sales of 7,232.
The 360 is enjoying unheralded success in Japan. It outsold the PS3 for the entire month of September, buoyed by the release of 360 exclusive RPG Infinite Undiscovery.
Sales for both machines were dwarfed, rather predictably, by Nintendo's DS and Wii, which shifted 42,385 and 25,330 units respectively. The PSP continued its impressive run, selling 26,045 units. Interestingly, Sony's PS2 sold more than the PS3 and the Xbox 360, with 8,618 units sold.
