Total sales in US reach 3.9 million units.

Sony Computer Entertainment America has announced over 1.2 million units of its PlayStation 3 console have been sold in the US for the period November 23 - December 31 2007. Sales in the US have now reached 3.9 million units.
During the same timeframe the PSP sold 1.4 million units and the PS2 1.3 million units, both outselling the PlayStation 3.
"The PlayStation brand ended the year in a very strong position and clearly indicates more positive momentum going into 2008," commented Jack Tretton, president of SCEA. "The strong PS3 sales also further establish Blu-ray's dominant position as the high-definition medium of choice for games and movies. Consumer are clearly responding to the expanding multimedia capabilities and a great line-up of over 200 games."
