The success of Pokemon GO certainly won’t have gone unnoticed by major players in the video game business, one of whom is Ubisoft.

The French publisher revealed during its recent first quarter sales call that it has been impressed by the augmented reality title.

“We are very impressed by what Nintendo has been able to achieve,” said Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot.

He added that the publisher is working on “a product using AR” but was quick to point out that it is “not exactly” the same kind of experience that Pokemon GO offers.

Pokemon GO’s success has led to Legendary snapping up the rights for a live action movie based on new character Detective Pikachu.
