All-formats sales now stand at over 17 million.

Minecraft Pocket Edition has now sold five million copies across mobile platforms, Mojang's Johan Bernhardsson has revealed.

"5 million of you have bought Minecraft Pocket Edition," Tweeted Bernhardsson. "Amazing! :)"

The Pocket Edition launched in November 2011, and has since received updates including the addition of crafting.

The mobile game's sales figure added to known totals of 8 million on PC and 4.5 million on Xbox 360 makes a combined 17.5 million Minecraft sales.
