Charles Cecil, industry veteran whose work ranges from Beneath a Steel Sky to the Broken Sword series, has been named a Member of the British Empire (MBE) in the Queen's Birthday Honours list.
Cecil responded to the accolade in a Tweet, saying: "Thrilled, flattered and humbled by all the MBE-congratulatory messages. Thanks so much!"
Cecil has nearly 20 titles under his belt, including the episodic Doctor Who adventures developed for the BBC last year.
Nice to see industry legends getting recognised in this way. Last year Championship Manager creators Pual and Oliver Collyer managed to snag an MBE for themselves as well, while in the past Eidos president Ian Livingstone and Lionhead's Peter Molyneux were given the award.
