Angry Birds Star Wars will launch on iOS, Android and ‘computers’ on November 8, 2012, Rovio has announced.

The super-IP spin-off sees Star Wars characters Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Princess Leia, Chewbacca and Obi-Wan Kenobi transformed into each of the series’ birds with each of their own familiar features.

Luke Skywalker, for example, will feature the traits of the series’ Red Bird, while Han Solo acts like the Yellow Bird.

But instead of attacking pigs, the characters will be on the hunt for Star Wars’ enemies, including a pig-like Darth Vader and his army of stormtroopers.

Unsurprisingly, the game will be built around Angry Birds Space’s gravitational physics, and feature worlds and environments included in the films, including Tatooine and Hoth.

Rovio claims that the game will be its “biggest and best game to date”

A range of clothing, toys and action figures based around Angry Birds Star Wars will also be available “about a week before” the game launches.

A free and paid version of Angry Birds Star Wars is expected to be available. A price for the premium game has yet to be revealed.
