Super Mario Strikers renamed for Europe

Super Mario Strikers, one of a number Super Mario branded games coming from Nintendo this year, has been given a name change for Europe.

The name, Super Mario Strikers, which remains in the US, has been changed to Mario Smash Football for its European release. After turning his had to Golf and Tennis, Mario is now having a go at the beautiful game. Don't expect Pro Evo style gameplay as this is firmly set in the arcade style camp, complete with power-ups and weapons. It looks to be similar to Soccer Slam which arrived to mixed reviews on all formats.

There is still no official release date for Mario Smash Football, but we expect to see it on store shelves late this year.
