This is the first proper 3DS game I've played and the 3D is definitely a mixed bag. On one hand it can look really good, but for some reason the backgrounds in the game can be incredibly hard to focus on. Sadly it's also a game you could finish in a day if you're not bothered about 3-starring every mission. I do like the flying squirrel suit, though, and it's a huge missed opportunity that it's not used more in the game. So, 3DS first impressions aren't brilliant but aren't terrible either. Definitely room for improvement. Next up, PES 2011 3D.

I've been partyin', partyin' (Yeah!) more in Homefront than anything else this Friday - including sessions where I start at 7am (waking up in the morning, gotta be fresh) - but if I have to write another word about that particular title I'm probably going to have a breakdown and run around the streets of Croydon completely naked. But I've also been cruisin' so fast around Undead Nightmare, which isn't really a radical departure from the normal Red Dead campaign outside of its schlocky, B-movie tone; it's more like kickin' in the front seat compared to the sittin' in the back seat. Which seat do I choose? Both.

Jamin Smith, Staff Writer – Assassin's Creed Brotherhood, Xbox 360, PS3 and PC

After taking a quick break from the world of Assassin's Creed to complete Dead Space 2, I've jumped straight back into things with Brotherhood. We so excited. I've been taking the main missions slowly, making sure to do everything physically possible before advancing the story. I'm on chapter eight now, and have burnt down all the Borgia towers, destroyed all of Da Vinci's war machines, trained an Assassin to level 10 and bought every damn shop in Rome. Time permitting, I'll wrap up the game on Saturday. Sunday comes afterwards.

Emily Gera, Staff Writer - Torchlight, Xbox 360

In my continuing quest to stay away from MMORPGs I've started playing anything that even faintly takes place in an RPG setting like some kind of makeshift methadone. So guess who played Torchlight on XBLA this week! It has skeletons and jungle ruins, combining two of my favourite things in one place. It's a shame that all my effort will be wasted when I start playing Rift this weekend, that recent MMO that supposedly isn't dreadful. Ah well, my heart was in the right place.

I've been playing Red Dead Redemption. Still. I'm not stuck on it, I'm just not enjoying it as much as I thought I would.

It's been another mixed bag for me:

AC: Brotherhood - Still very much enjoying it.

FIFA 10 - It is what it is.

Trials 2 Second Edition - Super frustrating but very addictive. Can't work out how to use a 360 controller or even if it is possible. The keyboard control is functional but not entirely comfortable.

Black Ops - Started the campaign after borrowing it from a friend. Hated it. Some impressive sections in what I played but overall just very disappointed. Gave it back.

Medieval 2 Total War - Well on my way to conquering the Americas in the Kingdoms expansion.

I have been playing lots of Borderlands and I love it to bits! Every now and again I get totally hooked on a game (don't tell the Daily Mail) and this is very much one of them. Currently ploughing my way through the last of the DLC and every minute is fun.

Was able to jump back on Dead Rising 2 the weekend. I Won at TIR so now I just need to win each game at least once. Collected all psychopath combo cards plus beat ten of them (only missed one).
My biggest ***** up was I just started the case with the super zombies and I hadn't unlocked the "Saved 50 survivors" achievement. When I left the safe house I got a call to one last lot of survivors with time nearly up, so I Quick Stepped to the other side of the map onto the roof of one of the hotels to talk to a woman who had had a fight with her Mum (oh boy). So leaving her alone I ran over to another casino to find the Mum all the while the time for this mission is still running out. So talking to the mum to get her to join me which she does just as the time expires on the mission.
With the Mum in tow I head over to roof to see if in having her Mum(;)) she might still be there but she is nowhere to be found. So now I have to run to the safe house with the Mum though all these crappy super zombies, something I just about do. The Mum only had a tiny bit of health but in saving her she became my 50th and unlocked the achievements! What a bitch that was.

I've got quite stuck into Ratchet and Clank a Crack in Time this week and have been putting in a few hours with Pokemon Diamond. Hopefully will finish R&C so I can move on to another one of my many unopened games.

I deleted my Uncharted trophies from my system for some reason too so I might quickly complete that again :)

I finished GTA IV, reckon I've only stunt jumps and pigeons to find but I'm not willing to spend the time doing either.

I started out on Homefront which seems decent.

Marvel vs Capcom 3 really, at least until my wife decides she's finished with Crackdown 2 and I can send it back to rent another game!

Managed a 7 win streak until I cam up against someone who was clearly not a rookie but was on the way up the ranks, absolutely floored me :( Well more practice required!! :)

Woffls you beast, 150 hours!? I've only plugged 15 into mine. Cripes, and most of that is done during commuting.

Not a huge amount really/

f1 2010 which took considerably less time to annoy me then I expected it doesn't seem to know if it should be serious sim or stripped back for more mass market appeal and that makes it awkward. Winning from 24th place on the grid but a considerable distance on a track I had never previously raced ruined it for me.

Dead space attempt number 3 to try and play this game and get through it for some reason it just never hooked on my previous 2 attempts.

L4d2 reinstalled through steam and has been my goto game when bored funtimes on the mutations.

Ha ha, just reread. I thought there was something strange afoot the first time I read it but couldn't quite put my foot on it. Well played.

Most of my 'gametime' (which has been annoyingly sparse) this week has also gone to Assassin's Creed Brotherhood. Like Jamin I'm taking the main quests at a steady pace, making sure I'm doing as much as possible before progressing.

Of course I've been filling whatever free time I find with short bursts of Tiny Wings, I'm now on the 28x multiplier and boast a score of 185,000 (ish). Which doesn't quite match up Portal's score I know.

Despite the excellent multiplayer, the Killzone 3 campaign bored me to tears, so I picked up BioShock and Resistance 2.

BioShock is as ace, as I expected (having played the demo a couple of years ago, but Resistance 2 has really surprised me. I wasn't sure at first, but I'm really enjoying it. Reminds me of the fact that the fun element seems to be missing from most modern FPS games.
