Who comes out on top in this week's DLC round-up?

The console war is fought everywhere these days, but the internet seems to be where people are most vocal. It also serves to give each console its own set of downloadable content, fuelling the war even more. Each week we'll give you a run-down of what's available to download on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii, and declare a winner.

Our verdict is based on the content available this week only.

Note: This round-up is based on UK releases to each console's online service and does not include premium video content. Releases outside of the UK could vary.

PlayStation 3 - PSN

It's a good week to be a PS3 gamer with a strong selection of content hitting the PS Store. Pick of the bunch is EA's side-scrolling brawler Shank. It's arguably too much style over substance, but nevertheless is a fun romp while it lasts. Also new is overhead racer PixelJunk Racers: 2nd Lap, available as a free update to owners of the first game or £6.29 if you're new to the series. It's essentially the first game brought up to date to include Trophies and leaderboards and tweaked difficulty.

Those with 3D capable displays will also want to check out the ten track MotorStorm 3D Rift, offering a taste of the thrills to come in MotorStorm Apocalypse next year.

I think the 'this week only' thing is fair, but the Scott Pilgrinm thing should be like goal difference - so it's a close one but Sony just sneaks it. In my opinion, obviously!

Thanks for clearing that up jtorry. If that's the approach now, then I agree with the draw. Hope you had fun at Gamescom :)

We changed to a 'this week only' approach a few months back.

As for last week - I was in Germany for gamescom so didn't have time. I assume the release of Lara Croft would have given 360 the win though.

The PS3 has a lot more than the Xbox 360 this week and you guys have said in the past that titles that have been available on another platform in previous weeks don't count, so Scott Pilgrim on Xbox 360 shouldn't count as it was released on PS3 a couple of weeks ago. I own all formats and I'm not that bothered really, but I think PS3 had a clear and fair win this week.

Also, what happened to the DLC Royal Rumble last week?

Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 is well worth a download if you like beat em' ups. It's not hardcore but it's more accessible. Plus it has Shippuden Naruto so it pwns.
