Welcome to Heads-up, VideoGamer.com's weekly feature which gives you an at-a-glance run-down on the games you'll be able to buy or rent this weekend. Every Tuesday we'll pick out the best of the bunch, link to our reviews and previews and keep you in the video game loop so you have enough time to pre-order for Friday's post. Time to splash the cash.

Recommendation of the Week: SoulCalibur IV, Xbox 360, PS3
There's been a lot of talk recently about Street Fighter IV and Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe, meanwhile Ubisoft has been prepping Namco Bandai's insanely gorgeous brawler, SoulCalibur IV, for release on Xbox 360 and PS3.

We'd go as far as to suggest that SoulCalibur IV is not only one of the most graphically impressive games we've seen, but could well end up being the best beat 'em up of 2008. Sure we're yet to see the release of Capcom and Midway's challengers, but there's no denying SC4's class.

For the less hardcore out there you've also got the added cool of being able to fight as Darth Vader or Yoda.

Also out this week
PS3 Platinum range, PS3: It's been a long-time coming, but from this Friday gamers will be able to choose from a range of budget priced (£20) PlayStation 3 titles. Our picks would be the excellent Uncharted, MotorStorm, Ratchet and Clank: Tools of Destruction and Resistance, but Heavenly Sword is also worth a look if you fancy a very pretty hack 'n' slash.

And the rest...
Flatout Ultimate Carnage (PC)
Space Chimps (Xbox 360, Wii, DS)
Growlanser: Heritage of War (PS2)
Stronghold Crusader Extreme (PC)
International Athletics (PSP)
SBK 08: Superbike World Championship (Xbox 360, PS2. PSP, PC)
