Welcome to Heads-up, VideoGamer.com's weekly feature which gives you an at-a-glance run-down on the games you'll be able to buy or rent this weekend. Every Tuesday we'll pick out the best of the bunch, link to our reviews and previews and keep you in the video game loop so you have enough time to pre-order for Friday's post. Time to splash the cash.

Recommendation of the Week: Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Wii
It's taken over three months to make its way to Europe, but this Friday finally sees the release of Nintendo's Super Smash Bros. Brawl for Wii. The addition of 16 new playable characters brings the roster up to 35 and includes familiar faces such as Solid Snake, Wario, Diddy Kong and Sonic the Hedgehog.
Nintendo has also gone to town with the game modes on offer, including traditional vs. modes, a single-player side-scrolling action game, a range of competitive Wi-Fi game types plus a full-featured stage creation tool.
With so much on offer there's every chance you'll still be playing SSBB when Nintendo's next big hit arrives in stores this autumn.
Also out this week
Battlefield: Bad Company, Xbox 360, PS3: Call of Duty 4's been owning the online space for some time now, topping the Xbox LIVE leaderboard even with the likes of Halo 3 and GTA 4 to contend with. EA now wants in on the action with its first next-gen console-specific Battlefield title.
In our opinion Bad Company fell some way short of the greatness achieved by Infinity Ward with CoD4, but still offers gamers an enjoyable single-player campaign and a top multiplayer experience - a part of the game which is sure to expand over the coming months. If a game which sees a plumber, hedgehog, fantasy yellow creature and a monkey going head-to-head isn't your thing then you can do much worse than pick up Battlefield: Bad Company.
