Wii

With the launch of the highly anticipated WiiWare service comes a flurry of new titles for Wii gamers to choose from. The best is easily Frontier's LostWinds, which at only 1000 Wii Points should certainly be the first game on your shopping list. We also recommend Square's Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a King, although you'll be shelling out 1500 Wii Points initially and possibly more on future DLC.

With all the WiiWare excitement it's easy to forget about the Virtual Console, which this week sees the release of classic C64 top-down sci-fi shooter Paranoid. It's remembered as one of the best titles released for the C64 and is certainly worth a look.

Wii
Despite a strong week for the Xbox 360, the launch of WiiWare gives the Wii the edge this week. While all the titles available certainly aren't recommended, the release of LostWinds alone makes the service worthwhile. Coupled with Final Fantasy - despite its expensive price - and the rather great Paranoid on the Virtual Console, it gives Wii owners a great selection of high quality games to choose from this week.
