Here's one thing that would definitely make Mass Effect 2 more immersive and richer... have the decisions you make in side quests actually have LONG TERM impact. EG. If you chose to hand info over to the shadow broker, him appreciating your help would ACTUALLY MATTER (ie. you had to get info from him later in the game)...or if you gave the Salarian guy the win info on the Flux gambling machines he would actually create the tool that you could actually buy...or even cooler, choosing to kill or free the Rachni queen would have substantial impacts later in the game, like a Rachni invasion or something.
Making decisions you make ingame actually have large (sometimes unforeseen) consequences would make this game incredible, as well as make Paragon and Renegade mean so much more. The chance that your actions, like setting the Rachni queen free could have unintended consequences makes you showing mercy mean that much more, not just a +5 paragon or whatever.

Long live Bioware

And the detail on the uncharted planets was held back by the technology a lot, i would like to see wildlife, water, plants and geological features implemented in the new planets. also, who here wants to harvest minerals and rocks? and salvage fallen space probes for unwanted items? or infiltrate a compound identical to every other? Mass effect was a great formula of intriguing plot and a brilliant combat system. If Bioware leaves the formula untouched and address these issues and also ensure EA doesn't try any of there marketing schemes such as the dreaded in-game advertising and releasing it for Nintendo DS: This game will be a winner.
