Recommendation of the Week: Burnout Paradise, Xbox 360 and PS3

Seeing as there's not much else out this week Burnout Paradise is very easy to recommend; hell it would be easy to recommend pretty much any week of the year. Criterion has created a truly seamless world in which to drive, almost entirely removing the usual menu systems that us gamers have come to expect.

It's a truly remarkable accomplishment and despite a few niggling problems is a rather hefty step up from Burnout Revenge - itself a very accomplished arcade racing experience. Perhaps most impressive is the way in which online play has been so masterfully integrated into the game, with the usual invite system and matchmaking only a touch of the d-pad away. We could go on for ages about Burnout Paradise, but it's easier to point you towards our recently published review.

Advance Wars: Dark Conflict (DS): The acclaimed turn-based strategy series returns to the Nintendo DS, now with the highly anticipated inclusion of Wi-Fi play both locally and over the internet using Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. Players will also be able to battle against rivals using custom created maps.

Guitar Hero II (Xbox 360): Activision's first Guitar Hero offering on the Xbox 360 is now available in a more wallet-friendly solus edition, making it a tempting purchase to those who have already picked up a guitar or two with Guitar Hero III. The game lacks the online functionality of its successor, but features a cracking set of tunes and plenty of downloadable content.
