8. What we now know - Gears of War 2 will be an Xbox 360 exclusive.

In the on-going and increasingly viscous console war, Xbox fanboys like to whip out Gears of War as a shining example of a fantastic 360 exclusive game. The effectiveness of this tried and trusted console war weapon was dulled somewhat when Epic inevitably brought what amounts to a directors cut of the game to the PC late last year. That move raised some doubt over whether Gears of War 2 would be an Xbox 360 exclusive. Now that doubt has been eradicated with a brutal swipe of a chainsaw - Gears 2 will be an Xbox 360 exclusive. November 2008 is going to be a fantastic month for all Xbox 360 owners. Sorry PS3 fans, but you have to admit to a hint of jealousy.

7. What we still don't know - How long Gears of War 2's Xbox 360 exclusivity will remain.

We have no doubt a PC version of Gears of War 2 will be released. The question is, when? Our best guess is November 2009, exactly one year after the Xbox 360 release, which would be in line with the time delay of the first game. We suspect it will probably once again be a director's cut with extra content and higher resolutions. But here's what we don't want. We don't want Epic to hold back on stuff like bosses, missions, story content and any of that other crucial stuff 360 owners demand. We don't want Epic to gimp the 360 version of Gears of War 2 so it has something to wheel in PC owners a year later - 360 owners deserve the full package.

I agree on what you are saying but, did you know that you can hook up your wireless 360 controller to your PC???? if so try that out, I bet you would enjoy it more that way. Oh, and yes I cannot wait for ...

OMG this is Microsoft's comeback what a joke. They think they can compete against a beast like Sony which has so many exclusives that can crush the life of the Xbox 360 for ever like Resistance 2 Killzone 2 Metal Gear Solid 2: Guns of the Patriots FFXIII GOW3 and many more A++ games to come. Gears of War just proof one think Microsoft's Game Studio is not capable of many things like making good games themselves they need other companies IP the other will be Microsoft is not capable of creating any other genre just FPS. One day Microsoft will have to come from denial just like all Xbox 360 owners one game cannot hold an entire video game console especially when it has so many problems like Red Light of Death and overheating or Xbox Live lagging. Sony doesn't need fear this crap is just a joke how bad Microsoft doesn't know games. PS3 is destine for greatness Xbox 360 is destine to fail as anything.

Umm Ivan, you do realize that Gears of War 2 isn't the only MS game coming out in 08? The way your speaking it seems like you believe it is. As for MS's comeback, Gears 1 sold over 5 million copies...thats nealy 4 million more then Resistance 1.

Ivan must be a retard. I love how you mention GOW3 as an exclusive to crush the 360, but when? in 2010? You'll have grown out of your PS3 by then.

Also, GoW is not an FPS, so your other point of 'Microsoft is not capable of creating any other genre just FPS' makes no sense.

You really think Resistance2, Killzone2 or MGS will be as good as GoW2? You're having a laugh and i detect a hint of jealousy in your PS3 fanboyisms.

Kosta hasnt even played Killzone 1... i can tell. its an ok game, not the best. No need to be jelous at any xbox games as we already know they're coming to the pc anyway, unlike Nintendo and PS3 games which are exclusive by the whole meaning of the word... not partially as in shared with PC

Guys, GeoW 2 can't beat the PS3 team this year... alone.
Undoubtely, GeoW 2 won't be alone. There's Fable 2, Too Human (if it turns out to be good), Halo 3 (Xbox'ers who bought the second and haven't bought a 360 yet, will probably do) and perhaps Project Offset (awesomeness).

But saying GeoW 2 will rock the entire PS3 game arsenal is just stupid, yes it is, shaddup!
MGS4, KZ 2, GoW III (not necessarily out in '08), LBP and Resistance will surely be great titles as well.
However, none of these games is guarenteed to be good (only GTA IV is allowed to do that XD), but they probably will.

So people, grow some pride, leave your fanboyism at ze door and try the titles out first.

... Wow, we're going to have a lot of Game of the Year nominees this year, huh? :D

Looking forward to GOW2, as I cannot stop playing GOW online also main campaign as well. I think it will out sell the first GOW, and the fanboys from xbox & PS3 will have a massive debate about it no matter of a doubt.

The Maria part has put a cliffhanger on for sure... I think Dom did speak about her in the first game, when you see the dead Gears solider and Carmaine throws that metal junk down the hole. And it was a shame that Carmaine died so early in the game, but oh well its like "Saving Private Ryan" when Vin Diesel dies so oh well. :D

Did anyone try PC version of GOW ? I tried and it didn't feel good if u play X360 version first (its only my experience). I don't see any harm to release a game to the PC+360. Why? simple. Developer can grap some extra money since they r exclusive to a console. I think, its ok.
About the LoL and Ivan's comment : it's realy a fanboy stuff ! consider Hevenly sword and Lair. I know these doesn't go well but if they release these on PC with PS3 , they can overcome the loss and it will be ok for both and gamers.
And in 2008, everybody saying that PS3 will dominate this year. fine ! but how ? there 1st party exclusive. ok, that is good but can someone count how many cross platform games will be release in this year ? LOTs ! so, I think, gamers will consider the good quality games not who have exclusive games. if those goes like lair, well problem will be there. other than that i think this year will be equal both 360 and PS3. and abt killzone2. i played both PSP and PS2 version. PS2 was ok but PSP version was good. no need to compare it with others like Halo! when it comes , we will figure it out(don't expect too much).
Finaly, GOW2 . oh man ! i bet, a guy who is a shooting game fan, have to play Gear of War. no matter u r a PS3 or wii fan! don't own a 360? then go to ur friends home and play. u r missing something !!
1 last suggestion. don't play the 360 version first if u r planing to play it on PC. 360 version controlling system is better than PC.
GOW2 ! i am waiting 4 u. oh, by the way, I still couldn't finish the GOW. hopefully it will be4 Nov'08.

Oh, and yes I cannot wait for GOW2 comes out. I wonder if epic will give the 360 users more stuff online, than compared to the first GOW. And VG if you ever get a chance to speak to Epic games about GOW2, ask them if they are adding something new to Xbox live or improving it.
